The SBE electroplating
machine is designed specifically for processing small parts. It excels
in plating parts whose configuration creates nesting or lack of uniformity
such as coverage in blind holes and where sharp points get trapped in
barrel meshes.
Other
Plating Techniques
At Spec Plating we
offer a variety of other plating techniques. The most common are barrel
and racking methods. Barrel plating compliments high volume production
parts that are able to have part-to-part contact.
Many of the parts processed
at Spec Plating run on racks or by using wire wrapping. There is no part-to-part
contact with these two options. This works well for parts where appearance
and surface uniformity are critical. Racks vary in size to accommodate
various part configurations. Custom racks are also available to meet specific
customer needs.
Vibratory barrel plating is also employed to accommodate very delicate
parts and part configurations that may not lend themselves to more traditional
techniques.
Beaker plating is employed for smaller quantities of extremely small
parts. Parts as small as .002 in. diameter and .062 in. long are plated
using this method.
